Meet our Team
Student Leadership Team 2024-2025
Roshan Kazi
Head Student
Let me introduce myself — my name is Roshan Kazi, and I have the honour of serving as Head Boy at Willingdon Community School. Ever since joining the school I have been committed to making a meaningful contribution to its community and culture. Being Head Boy is a privilege that enables me to represent my peers, support their voices, and give back to a school that has played a significant role in my personal growth. Rather than viewing this position as symbolic, I see it as an opportunity to leave behind a legacy of positive change and strengthened student leadership. Outside of school, I am deeply passionate about basketball — a sport that continues to teach me the value of discipline, perseverance, and working as part of a team. No matter the challenge, I approach my responsibilities with integrity, purpose, and a genuine commitment to serving the student body to the best of my ability.
Ava Jackson
Head Student
Hello, I am Ava and I am very proud to be Head Girl of our incredible school. I oversee all projects and delegate tasks to our student leadership team in order for us to have a successful and efficient year. I hope to leave this school having made a positive impact by aiding our school with new support systems and creating new activities where students can become part of a team from the beginning of their secondary school years.
Dance is a passion of mine that I have done competitively since I was a child. I want to incorporate some aspects of that learning, into our school environment: a sense of community and working as a team, creativity and freedom to express yourself and finally a competitive drive that will encourage students to strive to be the best version of themselves.

Katie Parkes
Deputy Head Student
Hello, I am Katie and I am Deputy Head girl at Willingdon Community school. I feel very proud to be part of such an amazing team of students and I cannot wait to put our ideas into action! I help with the transition element of school life, and my aim is to make each student feel confident going into the next year. My hobbies include dancing and singing, which I am very passionate about, and I am very excited to be heading to Dance World Cup in Spain this year with my dance school! My favourite subjects in school are Spanish, History, Dance and Maths. Finally, I hope to encourage students to be ambitious and strive to be the best person they can be.
Reuben Wakefield
Deputy Head Student
Hello, I'm Reuben Wakefield and I am the Deputy Head Boy here at Willingdon Community School. I am part of a fantastic team of students, and I hope to support everyone in our community. My main aims include setting up, planning, and creating our brand-new podcast/news round video that will display the exceptional talent in our student body. The videos will also keep tutors up to date with the recent and upcoming events within the school. My passions include sport and music. I play cricket at Pevensey CC, and I spend a lot of time biking and exploring our local area. I play many instruments including piano, bass, violin, and guitar. Music is my absolute favourite thing to do in my free time, and I regularly create covers of songs on logic with my friends (some will be on the podcast). I also enjoy sciences, mainly biology and currently I'm fond of history.

Hi my name is Darcy Allsopp and I am one of the Assistant Head Students her at Willingdon Community School . I am looking forward to helping to turn ideas into practical action with the other students who are part of the team. I’m going to help organise events for fundraising and other projects, as well as help the transition team to support the Year 6s into Year 7s. I hope I can make a positive impact in the school.
Eva Owen
Assistant Head Student
Hiya! I'm Eva, and I'm one of the Assistant Head Students at Willingdon Community School.
This year, I’ve taken on the role of STEM/Academic Lead, where I’m working to develop students’ curiosity and passion for learning. I’m thrilled to be part of such an amazing team, and I’m excited to help make a difference, big or small! I have a real interest in the ancient world, particularly Ancient Greek mythology and the role it played in people’s lives. I also adore my Drama GCSE, which allows me to express myself creatively. After Willingdon, I hope to either become a university lecturer or an anaesthetist, supporting people through some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
However, if there’s one thing that I’d like people to know about me, it’s that I have a deep love for learning and exploring the world and my biggest goal is to inspire that same passion in others.
Jessica Blackwell
Assistant Head Student
Hi, I'm Jessica Blackwell, and I'm truly excited to be part of the Student Leadership Team. I’m passionate about bringing ideas to life and helping turn your shared visions into reality. I believe that great outcomes come from collaboration, open communication, and genuinely listening to others’ perspectives. I’m here to contribute, learn, and grow alongside a group of people who are just as motivated and creative as I am. Looking forward to working together and making great things happen!
Lily Topham
Assistant Head Student
Hi, I’m Lily and I’m really excited to be part of the leadership team this year. I’m looking forward to helping support and to represent students across the school, making sure everyone feels included and heard. I’m especially keen to help organise events and encourage more student involvement in school life. Outside of school, I love playing netball and going for runs — staying active is really important to me!

Our Student Leadership Team
At Willingdon Community School we believe that we have a responsibility to develop leadership skills in all students. School life provides many opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills. Through daily interactions with peers and teachers, shared responsibilities and by contributing to decision making forums, students at Willingdon Community School have the opportunity to become part of the school leadership team.
Student leaders have the potential to influence the school environment and the behaviour of their fellow students by becoming advocates for positive change in the school community.
Students who actively participate in school life and feel that they are encouraged to share their ideas and opinions, feel respected and want to make further contributions to the school.
Our Aims
The aim of the student leadership procedures is to ensure that all students have the opportunity to build leadership skills through training programmes and during lessons that reflect the core values taught at WIllingdon Community School, including ambition, respect, courtesy, compassion and honesty. As Willingdon Community School we encourage and provide a variety of ways for our students to become involved as leaders with the school setting.
The school aims to empower students to work in partnership with staff towards shared goals and to enable creativity and to flourish as the school community benefits from the wealth of experiences, ideas, skills and sense of fun that students bring. The school prepares students for Higher Education and for achieving personal and professional excellence in life after formal education.
The school encourages these leadership roles to be spread across all year groups.
