FRIENDS OF WILLINGDON
The Friends of Willingdon are a group of parents, carers and supporters who seek to provide a link between the school, home and community through the organisation of a wide range of events which are not only a great deal of fun and a fantastic way to make new friends. It is also an opportunity to fundraise for school projects to enhance and enrich all our children’s school lives.
In recent years we have been very proud to have provided a new minibus to the school – a vision that seemed all but impossible when we started some five years ago! In recent years we have also given the school a new laser cutter for the DT department, an online IXL English package and various items for the curriculum that Heads of Department had to bid for, Dragon’s Den style!.
Over recent years we have also supported the many activities of the school, including the Sponsored Walk, Christmas Concert, School Play, Fusion Music Festival etc. In 2018 and 2019 we organised our first ever Firework event, in conjunction with a local primary school, and raised over £2500 for each school. We plan to hold another Firework event here at the School on the 12th November, providing current regulations allow.
We are always looking for new ways to raise money for the school. We would very much welcome new members at any time; people with new ideas or those simply wanting to be involved in some way. Please come and join us and find out how you can make this school even better.
