LEARNING MENTOR
Single Status Grade 3 £24,027 per annum (pro rata)
Fixed term until 31st March 2026
34 hours per week/39 weeks per year (paid for 45.05 weeks per year to include holiday entitlement)
Actual pro rata salary is £19,075 per annum
To start September 2025
We are seeking to appoint to our team of hardworking and enthusiastic Learning Mentors who would act as role models to our students. The post would be perfect for individuals who have completed their current phase of education and wish to experience working in a professional environment before embarking on their chosen career path. Willingdon Community School has a highly committed and supportive staff body who would welcome you into the team.
Duties will include:
Being a positive role model
Supporting students in a range of subjects
Helping students who require extra support
Participation in school trips and supervising group activities
The successful candidates will help to develop students’ confidence, supporting with literacy and numeracy and to guide them how to access education to achieve their highest potential. The post may also involve a combination of targeted work in our inclusion room with students who are hard to reach and present with challenging behaviours and in class support across the curriculum with students within SEN. They will need to have excellent communications skills, tolerance and sensitivity. At Willingdon Community School, we invest heavily in our staff training. The successful candidates will be given opportunities to develop their own projects and gain skills required to ease them into the professional world of work.
