70th Anniversary Photography Competition

Whether you are a former student, current family, member of staff, or local resident, we invite you to help create a lasting visual archive celebrating 70 years of community, history, and local pride.

“All Things Willingdon & Local Areas”

We are looking for photographs that celebrate:

• Historic memories from school life

• Contemporary images of the school campus

• Landscapes and landmarks across the local East Sussex area

• Community moments and hidden local gems

From treasured archival prints to stunning modern photography — we want to see Willingdon through your lens.

🖼️ Technical Specifications

To ensure selected entries can be professionally printed for our Anniversary Exhibition, please follow these guidelines:

File Requirements

• Minimum Resolution: 3000px on the longest edge

• Accepted Formats: JPEG, PNG or TIFF

• Colour Space: sRGB preferred for digital judging

Scanned Images

If submitting scanned prints or photographs:

• Scan at 600 DPI

• Ensure the image is clean and sharp for exhibition-quality printing

Editing Rules

Permitted:

• Colour correction

• Contrast adjustments

• Sharpening

Not Permitted:

• Composite images

• AI-generated imagery

• Heavily manipulated photographs

Submit Your Entry

Send your photographs to:

Please Include:

1. Your full name

2. Contact number

3. Your connection to the school
   (e.g. alumnus, former staff member, local resident)

4. A short caption or story about the image
   (maximum 50 words)

⏰ Competition Deadline

Midnight — Monday 5th July 2026

Late entries may not be considered, so please submit in good time.

Exhibition Opportunity

Selected entries will be professionally printed and displayed around the school during our 70th Anniversary celebrations.

You retain full copyright ownership of your photographs.

Licence Agreement

By entering the competition, you grant Willingdon Community School a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use submitted images for:

• School prospectuses

• Website and social media

• Promotional materials

• Educational and archival purposes

• Physical exhibitions

Photographer Credit

We will always aim to credit photographers wherever reasonably possible.

🔒 Privacy, GDPR & Safeguarding

Identifiable People

If your photograph includes identifiable individuals, you must ensure they have consented to the image being used by the school in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.

Model Release Forms

For close-up portraits or featured individuals, we may request a signed Model Release Form before exhibition.

Personal Data

Your personal information will only be used for administering this competition and will be handled in accordance with East Sussex County Council policies.
