FaCToRS of Excellent Teaching and Learning 

To ensure that our curriculum is effectively delivered we use an evidence-informed model of FaCToRS of Excellent Teaching and Learning. FaCToRS incorporates five key strands; to be excellent learners, students are expected to focus, communicate, think, reflect and strengthen their learning.

A key principle underlying the FaCToRS is that we are preparing our students to take the initiative and to lead their own learning without overly relying on the teacher. We want to see students actively engaged, striving to achieve their best and taking ownership of their learning both in school and at home. In lessons students should not simply be ‘doing’ but showing curiosity, thinking hard and rising to challenges. We want students to leave lessons with their brains hurting!
