School Trips

Broadening Your Horizons

Trips provide unique opportunities for kinaesthetic learning. They help to increase student aspirations and motivation as well as develop student confidence. Every subject area at Willingdon Community School provides chances to learn outside of the classroom and we actively encourage students to participate in these. Annually, we also celebrate the end of term with Activities Week which offers fantastic trips to explore horizons beyond East Sussex. Finances should never be a reason as to why students can’t opt into an excursion. Please do consult the school if you would like to discuss this further.

Outlined below, are examples of trips we have offered in recent years.

  • Ski Trip to Austria, which caters for beginners to advanced skiers

  • Trip to Ypres to visit the war cemeteries and battlefields of WW1

  • Language trips to France e.g. Christmas market trip to Lille

  • Morfa Bay outdoor activities centre trip

  • Geography expedition to Iceland

  • Charity Expedition to Uganda

  • Year 8 residential camp
